Trade unions in India
In India the Trade Union movement is generally divided on political lines. According to provisional statistics from the Ministry of Labour, trade unions had a combined membership of 50,97,366 in 2010.〔http://labourbureau.nic.in/Trade_Unions_In_India_2010.pdf〕 As of 2008, there are 14 Central Trade Union Organisations (CTUO) recognised by the Ministry of Labour.〔http://www.labourfile.org/superAdmin/Document/113/table%201.pdf〕
